We are delighted to feature today a new partner, ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, Mannheim! ๐
About ZEW
ZEW is one of Germanyโs leading economic research institutes, known for its excellence throughout Europe. As a member of the Leibniz Association, ZEW is committed to conducting research that benefits society. Its focus spans a wide range of practice-oriented topics, including digitalisation, innovation, taxes, climate protection, and equal opportunities. The two main pillars of ZEWโs work are economic policy research and evidence-based policy advising. With nine research units dedicated to these areas, ZEW strives to study the optimal performance and design of markets and institutions in Europe.
ZEW’s role in WinWin4WorkLife
ZEW is contributing its expertise to the WinWin4WorkLife project by analysing employers’ willingness to implement various remote working arrangements and their potential use as a recruitment tool amid the ongoing skilled labor shortages. As part of this effort, ZEW is developing and conducting a large-scale survey among firms in five European countries to gather crucial data and insights.
Remote Work Experience
Daniel Erdsiek, Researcher and Work Package Leader for ZEW, shares his experience:
“I work from home around two days per week. During the pandemic, the transition was seamless as we were already equipped with the necessary tools. Hybrid work schedules with at least one or two days in the office per week help mitigate potential drawbacks such as reduced communication or team cohesion, making it a balanced approach for long-term success..”
Daniel Erdsiek
