We are excited to introduce our esteemed partner, EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne)! 🌟

About EPFL

Located within EPFL’s ENAC Faculty (Architecture, Civil, and Environmental Engineering), the Laboratory of Urban Sociology (LASUR) investigates the social dynamics shaping cities and territories. Guided by Professors Vincent Kaufmann and Luca Pattaroni, LASUR brings a robust social science perspective to urban experiences and mobility. Its interdisciplinary research delves into areas such as daily mobility, suburbanisation, gentrification, public space use, and the management of networks, creating a bridge between engineering, architecture, and sociology.

EPFL’s role in WinWin4WorkLife

The EPFL group will primarily contribute to the qualitative survey component. This includes designing the sampling methodology and developing the thematic interview grid. Additionally, the EPFL group will play a key role in analysing the qualitative data, employing lexicometry techniques and semantic analysis to extract meaningful insights.

Remote Work Experience

Sofía González Jiménez, PhD candidate of the team, shares her perspective:

“While remote working initially challenged me to create a structured routine in a space meant for relaxation, I came to appreciate the flexibility it offered. It allowed me to prioritize well-being activities like sports, which kept me balanced and productive. Also, one key lesson I’ve learned is that collaboration can still thrive in a virtual environment, which is incredibly valuable, especially when physical presence isn’t possible. This has shown me how adaptable and resilient teams can be, even when working remotely.”
